But who the heck is Peter? The conductor of our taste train is commonly known as Vaughan Denny. His birth certificate says his first name is really Peter — which is handy, if only for the purpose of alliteration.

Shannon is his sidekick and the one who really, really likes wandering around in the world in search of flavour sensations. Peter’s Perfect Bread & Butter Pickles — the jar that started it all — is her nana’s recipe.

It meandered all the way from Summit Point in West Virginia to Braunton in North Devon. And maybe if we can tempt you, it will travel straight to your plate!
